Joel Chavez's Polaroid Giveaway

So Joel is an awesome guy.  An this is his awesome shot for the Polaroid Giveaway.  That’s an ice fishing hole.   He’s standing on a lake!  Crazy.

And then there’s Jake’s submission.  Jake is an equally awesome guy and the photo pretty much sums up what I was hoping for when I sent these photos out.  That’s Rockefeller Center in Rockefeller Forest.

Jake sells prints:

jakemessenger.etsy.com

and has a website at www.jakemessenger.com/.

and tweets at twitter.com/jakemessenger.

I meet both of these fine gentlemen through twitter.  it’s been great following their work.  you should, too.

I can’t wait to see what you come up with so keep the submissions coming!

thanks again to the awesomely talented people out there!

it was pretty cool that on the same day to of my polaroids with the same theme showed up back together. i figured it would be appropriate to let you see them together, too.

Looks like we’re going on a ride here:

cool!

anyway, keep those shots coming! can’t wait to see what you’ve done!

wow!

I’ve been continually amazed at the talented and creative people my Polaroids have reached.

a few people have actually sent their work with Polaroids of Polaroids back to me.

so here’s a few:

Kristen aka acukiki is an awesome photographer. Check out her flickr and etsy.

she took my breakfast Polaroid and matched it with her own. pretty cool, right?

oh and then there’s Laura’s shot:

I think this was the third shot I got and I have to say it blew my mind.

I just recently became familiar with Laura’s photography and it has challenged and inspired me!

You can find more of Laura’s work on flickr and on her site.

As you know these Polaroids have gone on quite the journey…

A print of this is actually framed in my living room and Ryan in San Fransisco ended up with the original and did a shot in front of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Check our Ryan’s work here.

Dave in London took my shot out for a ride in the underground

White brick on white brick: nice!

Check out Dave’s webpage! Cool!

So hopefully these may have resolved any creative ruts you may be in.

I know they have inspired me.

I’m looking forward to seeing your shots!

so PJ Taylor jumped right and set the bar pretty high, I think.

Pretty cool, right?

Check out her site and flickr!

please don’t forget to email me the files and your link info giveawayers! I want to make sure everyone gets a fair share of the love and proper credit! :)

so cool: about 75 people from 11 countries and 5 continents are getting a polaroid from me. and it comes in a cool package w/ instructions.

they were all mailed from rockefeller center on monday. i know post office employees get a bad rap but i have to say it’s amazing that you can send a card to new zealand for $1.18.

i’m pretty excited to see what they send back.

aren’t you?

Please note as of Novemeber 13th at 10:35am EST this project is closed for the time being. Thanks for much for all the reponses. Stay tuned!

i think i’ve made it pretty clear and, hopefully, obvious why i love polaroids so much.

if i haven’t- let me sum it up for you: each one is a totally unique and with certain exceptions impossible to replicate. and that’s awesome.

the more I shoot, though, the more I have and the more I have the less space I have to store them.

so i have an idea. a giveaway of sorts. an art project of sorts, too. i want to give YOU one of my polaroids. i’ll pay to ship it to you and package it all nice, too. and you’ll get a one of a kind little piece of art.

what’s the catch? pretty simple: a picture of you holding my shot or a picture of my shot in it’s new home.. i would really like to compile a book with these pictures. and then we’ll share the whole thing and we’ll all feel good. and i’ll have more space to keep shooting and collecting more polaroids.

i will also be “leaving” polaroids around new york city for random people to find and hopefully they’ll share as well. for this part i’ll docuemnt their left position and hopefully follow-up with a picture or the person who found it.

so if you’re interested please email me your address: jeffhuttonphoto@gmail.com

let’s do this!
